Golden Pothos or Scindapsus aureus plants are among the most popular houseplants for their versatility and easy care. Golden Pothos have a yellow and green variegation which make them easily recognizable and popular in a variety of settings. Also known as Devil’s Ivy, Golden Pothos is naturally found in forests from Southeast Asia to the West Pacific. Golden Pothos are one most popular of all house plants. They are attractive, durable and easy to grow vines that have smooth, leathery, heart shaped leaves with distinctive marbling alternating along rope-like green stems. Pothos vines are among the top ten air purifying plants for indoor use. When grown in the ideal conditions in a greenhouse where there is very bright indirect light all day long, high humidity, and warm temperatures. Golden Pothos should be grown in a draft free spot with bright, indirect light and good ventilation. An hour or two of morning sun is acceptable, but full sun in the afternoon will cause the marbling of the foliage fade. Insufficient light will also cause the variegation to fade. Pothos plants grow very well under fluorescent lighting, especially grow-lights. Pothos are 1 of the plants that are champions at cleaning the air. That’s right, while they’re sitting there looking pretty, Pothos are actually removing toxins found in carpet, paint, plastics, insulation, etc from the air around them.

Care Instruction :

Light : There is a Pothos Plant variety for almost any light situation. Green Jade Pothos houseplants with their solid green leaves do well in low light. The Golden Pothos variety with yellow and green leaves likes medium to low light. Marble Queen Pothos with green and white leaves grow best in medium tohigh light. The lighter the color in the leaves, the more light a Pothos Plant requires.

Water : Water a Pothos Plant well and then allow the top 50% of the soil to dry out before watering again. Over-watering is almost the only way to kill a Pothos Plant. Bright yellow leaves indicate that a Pothos Plant has gotten too dry before you watered it. New growth and older leaves turn black when a Pothos Plant is over-watered.

Fertilizer : Golden pothos is quite hardy and can survive without fertilizer for months on end. Fertilize during the growing season and avoid fertilizing during the winter months. If the plant stops producing new growth, reduce the frequency of fertilizing to once every two or three months.

Temperature : Pothos Plants do well in temperatures between 55 and 80 degrees. If temperatures drop below 45 degrees, a Pothos Plant stops growing and the leaves turn black.
